Book Review: The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth

Another thriller… who am I?? I actually really loved this one though. Totally worth it. Luckily the waitlist wasn’t too long, so I got it pretty quick and read it pretty quickly too. It’s one of those you won’t want to put down once you get close to the end. Keep reading for my review of The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth.

Synopsis

This book switches between two POVs. Fern, who is a librarian. She is kind, trusting and it is implied that she falls somewhere on the autism spectrum. The other POV is her twin sister Rose’s journal entries. Rose is brave and strong. She loves and protects her sister fiercely. Fern finds out Rose is having difficulty getting pregnant, and she decides that she can just get pregnant herself and give her sister her baby. Fern relies heavily on Rose, as she has always been there for her. It is revealed that Rose got Fern out of a horrible situation that occurred when the girls were preteens. Rose’s journal entries shed light on the twin girls’ upbringing.

Thoughts

If I took one thing from this book, it’s that things are not always as they seem. It was actually pretty freaky how manipulative the person in this story was, because I was completely fooled. I flew threw the last 1/4th of this book because everything came crashing down at once and I had to know how it ended. I did not predict the twist in this one!
