Synopsis

Diana has her dream job, her dream boyfriend, and a dream vacation planned where she’s sure he will propose. But when Covid breaks in early 2020, her surgeon boyfriend Finn has to stay in New York City. He encourages her to take their romantic getaway to the Galapagos on her own. What happens in those next few weeks changes everything for Diana.

In addition to all the changes she is experiencing, she’s also trying to repair a broken relationship with her mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s.

Thoughts (spoilers)

I started to realize I might not like this book when it seemed that Gabriel was becoming a love interest, while she was still with Finn. I almost quit the book half way because I was so mad that she cheated on him and had no remorse whatsoever. Then when it is revealed that none of it actually happened and she was actually experiencing Psychosis as a side effect of Covid, I decided I would finish the book. I just did not find Diana to be a likable character. And overall the book was kind of depressing. I felt like the cliffhanger ending was really predictable too. I know so many people love this book — it has great reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. But overall I just really didn’t like this one!
